ABWC Teaching Team:
Alex
I walk like a fox, I thread like mycellium, I crack like thunder.
I'm animated by what is on and beyond the horizon.
I'm pulled back by the tides of my own and our shared despair.
I'm new here, i'm old here, and i'm almost always somewhere else at the same time.
Hailing from the North Saskatchewan river, my body is the first in my ancestral line to be brought up here. I straddle the line of settler, immigrant, light skin, and no gender please.
For the last 12 years i've crafted skills and experience in grassroots organizing, community outreach, building with and for marginalized peoples, climate justice, workshop facilitation, early childhood care and education, and my own multi-disciplinary artistic practices. My work is rooted in the joys of co-creation! Of learning and un-learning and always being hopeful, critical, visionary, and committed. This will be my second year teaching at Aurora Borealis, and I am very excited to delve into all the colours of our Centre's, our Core's, together.
